Pop-up Fertilizer in Corn

Pop-up fertilization is a starter fertilizer model that places safe rates and formulations of crop nutrients into the furrow with the seed. Other starter fertilizer concepts will utilize separation between fertilizer and seed to provide seedling safety but in doing so create a lag time for seedlings to access nutrients due to the time required for roots to reach and proliferate the nutrient zone. Pop-up fertilizers provide immediate access to important plant food including N, P, K, and micronutrients. Usually, the best return on investment from any starter fertilizer application can be achieved in medium to low testing soils for P and K and during cool and wet spring conditions. However, many geographies commonly utilize Pop-up fertilizers across all of their corn acres to assure that there are no nutrient deficiencies capable of limiting crop growth regardless of the soil or weather conditions.

Redline® is designed to be applied in a pop-up placement strategy. Redline possesses the right amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium necessary to enhance early season growth. In addition, it contains a blend of fully chelated micronutrients including zinc to ensure a balanced fertility program for your corn crop. Redline also possesses the most stable and effective chelate technology on the market to ensure continued nutrient delivery to the plants even after the initially applied nutrients from the fertilizer product have been taken up by the crop.
